A lack of regular physical activity is associated with increased systemic inflammation and worsening of symptoms, while poor sleep quality impairs intestinal mucosal regeneration and immune response. Furthermore, the fast-paced pace of cities, with less contact with natural environments and greater exposure to pollutants, contributes to the increase in cases in urban areas.


Another relevant aspect is the indiscriminate use of antibiotics, which can significantly alter the composition of the intestinal microbiota, reducing bacterial diversity and favoring the growth of pro-inflammatory species.
